Zdenek Jan Weingartl (1955- 2012)

Zdenek Jan Weingartl unexpectedly passed away last week at his home in Squamish. Weingartl was an avid climber for almost four decades and had developed over a hundred routes in Europe, Asia and North America. His passion for climbing led him start Rock Empire, a company that imported climbing gear into Canada. A funeral service will be held on May 5th, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Squamish Funeral Chapel.
