American alpinist Colin Haley has bagged the first solo ascent of Cerro Standhardt via the existing route Exocet 5.9 WI5 500m.
American alpinist Colin Haley has bagged the first solo ascent of Cerro Standhardt via the existing route Exocet  5.9 WI5 500m. Haley began climbing on November 27 from the Niponino bivouac at the foot of Cerro Torre and arrived at the start of Exocet at 4:00 am. Climbing quickly, he reached the summit mushroom at 4:00 pm and returned to the bivy shortly after nightfall.
Haley is well known for the achieving the first ascent of the Torre Traverse, which includes Aguja Standhardt, Punta Herron, Torre Egger and Cerro Torre, with Rolando Garibotti in 2008.
