Drew Ruana Sends New V15 in Joe’s Valley
The 13-move line is a power endurance problem
Drew Ruana, 20, has made the first ascent of Pegasus V15 in Joe’s Valley, Utah. The problem has five moves at V13 into a V12+. “This boulder in total is around 13 moves, definitely more on the power endurance side,” Ruana said.
“I put seven sessions into this before the snow season, but thankfully with some good conditions I was able to nail all the moves. Five extremely hard tension moves of around V13 climbing lead directly into the start of Pagan Poetry low, V12+… definitely more on the power endurance side. “Feels on par, if not harder than some of the V15s I’ve done.”
Ruana is one of America’s leading young climbers. At the recent combined world championships, he finished 13th, has climbed one V16 and four V15s in the past. Click to watch a clip below.
