Elan Jonas McRae Sends Another New 5.14+ in B.C.
The Missing Link had been attempted by other strong climbers

Elan Jonas McRae has made the first ascent of The Missing Link 5.14+ at Christie Falls in Kelowna, B.C. The area was mostly developed by Adam Tutte, including The Missing Link. Other top climbers have attempted the project. Jonas McRae is fresh off making the first ascent of The Remnant 5.14+ in Skaha.
Jonas McRae neede three days to piece the mega line together and said on Instagram, “This was one of the biggest fights of my life and I sent today on my third day of trying the route.” He also hinted that he might be heading to Banff National Park to attempt Fight Club, the 5.15b first climbed by Alex Megos and attempted by Adam Ondra.
Last year, Evan Hau made the first ascent of Neanderthal 5.14b at Christie Falls. “Adam Tutte first showed me this place seven years ago,” said Hau. “Beyond stoked to be able to come back and complete this mega line. Incredible effort by Adam to discover this wall and develop it into what is today and what it can become in the future.” Click below to watch Jonas McRae project The Missing Link.
