Ethan Salvo Sends Ontario Crucifix Project at V12

Salvo named the hard problem Metamorphosis

Ethan Salvo is a 16-year-old climber from Markham who just made the first ascent of the old Crucifix Project at the Niagara Glen. “Over the past nine months I have practically been living at the Niagara Glen,” he said.

“My weekends are free days have been dedicated to climbing the hardest problems in my abilities at the Glen. This past Sunday I took down the long standing Crucifix Project, now known as Metamorphosis V12. This is the first ascent since a sink sized block fell out of the roof.”

Also at the Glen, Salvo has ticked classics such as Zozobra Sit V11 and The Phoenix V11. Salvo said that his next project will be the long-tried Phoenix exit. Follow Salvo below on Instagram.

Spent Friday and Saturday climbing at the glen. 2 solid days of climbing and checking out some of the hardest projects in the glen. I made some huge progress on crucifix and was able to hold the iron cross for a few seconds during one of my burns. But I was too psyched and forgot that I had more climbing to do. Right now the climb is coming down to 1 move, I’ve done the problem in 2 links (excluding the move) so it does feel doable. Psyched to get stronger and put this rig down. Vids are from Friday night, my best burns were made Saturday but sadly there isn’t any good footy 🙁 • • • #climbing #bouldering #outdoorclimbing #climbinggym #climbing_videos_of_instagram #climbingvideosofinstagram #instaclimbing #climbinginspiration #climbingguys #climbingcompetition #climbing_is_my_passion #trainhardclimbhard #niagaraglen #niagaraglenbouldering #athlete #fitnessmotivation #fitness #rockclimber #climber #evolv #temboclimbing #petzl #organicclimbing #bomberathlete #bomberhands @bomberclimbing @boulderparc @evolvcanada @evolv_worldwide @temboclimbing @organicclimbing
