Facundo Langbehn is First Chilean Up V15

Top Chilean boulderer Facundo Langbehn recently climbed The Nest V15 in Red Rocks, Nevada. It was the fifth ascent of the difficult problem.

The 23-year-old is the first climber from Chile to send the grade. Felipe Camargo is the only other South American to climb V15.

Daniel Woods first climbed it in 2013, before repeats by Jimmy Webb, Paul Robinson and Nalle Hukkataival. In the video below, Woods and Webb talk about finding, cleaning and establishing the problem.

“One of the sickest lines I’ve ever seen,” said Webb. The problem follows a number of low percentage slopers to a slab finish.

“I just sent The Nest and I can’t be happier right now,” said Langbehn. “I’ve been trying to get where I am right now for so long, that the feeling of achieve my life dream of push my limit in the sport that I love is amazing.

“Thanks a lot to everyone who help me in this process.” The following day, he climbed two other Red Rocks classics: Meadowlark Lemon Sit V14 and Reflecting Pool V13.
