Free Solo is Nominated for an Oscar
Free Solo has been nominated for an Oscar in the Best Documentary Feature category at the 2019 91st Academy Awards. The film was made by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin and has already many awards.
Free Solo profiles Alex Honnold on his quest to free solo Freerider 5.13 on El Capitan in June 2017. The film premiered at the Telluride Film Festival on Aug. 81 2018 and also screened at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival, where it won the People’s Choice Award: Documentaries.
