Free Solo Wins Best Doc at Bafta Awards

Free Solo by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin has been nominated for an Oscar, won the best climbing film at the Banff Mountain Film Fest and has dozens of other award nods to its name.

The film that features Alex Honnold free-soloing Freerider 5.13 on El Capitan is touring IMAX theatres, has premiered around the world and has 98 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Free Solo took best documentary at the British academy film awards (Baftas) this weekend up against McQueen, RBG, They Shall Not Grow Old and Three Identical Strangers. Full list here.
