Ghost Access Information for 2016
The Ghost public land use zone map has been updated by the Alberta government.
To climbers, the area northwest of Calgary accessed by the Big Hill, which is east of Banff National Park, is known as the Ghost. But within that area are a number of Wilderness Areas, such as the Ghost River and Don Getty Wildland Park.
The Climber’s Access Society of Alberta has worked with the Alberta government to secure access for climbers. They have designated parking areas and seasonal road closures.
