Jamie Finlayson Back on Dreamcatcher 5.14d Proj

Jamie Finlayson in Squamish is one of Canada’s top boulderers with hard sends up to V14 and 5.14c. Finlayson is one of many climbers who’s spent countless days projecting Dreamcatcher 5.14d on the Cacodemon Boulder in Squamish.

Together with Finlayson is another top climber, Tim Emmett, who’s also been projecting Dreamcatcher on and off over the year was back on the proj this month.

“Managed to sneak outside yesterday afternoon only to find everything completely soaked. Still managed to spend some time dialling in my beta on the slab and opening few moves of this beast,” said Finlayson. “Felt great and I think it was just what I needed to get me psyched on the route again. After failing for so long, motivation can be difficult but I think I found some inspiration. Time to try hard.”

“The redpoint crux for me it turns out was the hard moves in the pin scars,” said McColl. “Either way, the route was really hard for me. Whether or not I fell on the same moves as any other climber has very little relevance.”
