During this weekend’s Ouray Ice Festival Will Gadd must have set a Guinness record for the most vertical distance ice-climbed in a 24-hour period. Belayed by 24 climbers working in one-hour shifts, Gadd climbed the same route 194 times for a total vertical gain of 8870m. Gadd climbed the route to raise funds for the dZi Foundation, a not-for-profit organization helping mountain communities in Nepal and Sikkim.
