Jan 27, 2011 – Gadd and Emmett Sprayfest

Will Gadd and Tim Emmett have returned to Helmcken Falls and added four more pitches of severely overhanging climbing on their futuristic ice and mixed route. The pair spent days bolting the pitches on lead because the spray ice formations were too soft to accept screws. Gadd and Emmett were reticent about grading the climb perhaps because this angle of continuous steepness has never before been encountered on ice. More details here.
