Less than a month after the second ascent of Alex Megos’s Iron Butterly 5.14c by Evan Hau, the hard climb at Planet X has a third ascent.
Climbers have had to deal with cold, damp and snowy-peak weather this past week, but that didn’t stop Jon Siegrist from putting the hard Cougar Creek climb.
“I climbed Iron Butterfly last night,” said Siegrist. “What a uniquely difficult and beautiful route.
I had to get a little creative with my beta in spots but in the end I loved the way it all came together. Last try best try! I’d say low 5.14c (just for you Alex Honnold).”
