Jon Siegrist Sends New 5.15a with All You Can Eat

American climber Jon Siegrist has made the first ascent of All You Can Eat 5.15a at Mount Potosi near Las Vegas. He’d recently made the third ascent of Life of Villans at Hurricave in Utah, which Joe Kinder graded 5.15a, but he and Canadian Evan Hau (who made the fourth ascent) suggested 5.14d as a grade.

Siegrist has now climbed 41 routes between 5.14d and 5.15b, with a handful of hard lines being in Canada. Last summer, he ticked the six-pitch Castles in the Sky 5.14a and many single-pitch test-pieces like Honour and Glory 5.14d, Prime Time 5.14c, Iron Butterfly 5.14c and The Path 5.14R trad.

Siegrist made the third ascent of Jumbo Love, Chris Sharma’s mega route at Clark’s Mountain that had a second ascent by Ethan Pringle. About All You Can Eat, Siegrist wrote on 8a.nu, “Some kind of strength endurance nightmare or utter dream depending on what you fancy. Grateful to have a good shot after this gnarly winter.” While the start and finish of the route climbs older lines that had some manufactured holds, Siegrist said his new section that links the two is on entirely natural holds.
