Jonathan Siegrist Sends Spirit Quest 5.14d in Squamish
It was bolted by Tom Wright and first sent in August 2021 by Mike Foley
Jonathan Siegrist has climbed Spirit Quest 5.14d in Squamish’s Paradise Valley. He recently made the trip to Canada’s west coast to participate in the Arc’teryx Climbing Academy.
About the route, Siegrist said, “It’s truly incredible. I actually think it could be one of the better 5.14+ routes anywhere. Long, consistent, impeccable rock, cool varied movement, totally natural, beautiful, it’s a real gem.”
The first ascent of Spirit Quest was by Mike Foley in August 2021, and it was repeated shortly after by Ben Harnden. It’s a bolted direct start to Spirit of the West, a 5.14a opened by Tom Wright in 2015. Siegrist made an early repeat of Spirit of the West in 2016.
