In October 2025, Jorge Díaz-Rullo sent Pink Patatas 5.15a (9a+) in La Bisbal de Falset, Spain. Pink Patatas is a unique sport climb that links a boulder problem into a route. It begins with a V12 sit-start boulder, discovered and worked by Alberto Rocasolano Jaudenes. The boulder ends on a flake rest, after which a 5.14a route with 50 steep moves to pull awaits. The rock looks incredible: soft pink conglomerate with bomber, rounded potato-like features. Díaz-Rullo’s just released a video about his ascent, which you can view below.

Alex Megos made the first ascent of the line in October 2022. Tom Bolger made the second ascent the following month. Díaz-Rullo’s ascent is the third. Díaz-Rullo climbed the boulder protected by crash pads while wearing his harness, but no rope. Once at the flake rest, he then secured himself to a rope to ascend the rest of the climb.

“Back in Catalonia, this time taking advantage of the start of the season to climb in different crags,” said Díaz-Rullo after his ascent on Instagram. “In this case, discovering this incredible cave and being able to make the third ascent after [Alex Megos] and [Tom Bolger] of this amazing line that has caught so much of my attention. Looking forward to better conditions to return to the main objective!”

Díaz-Rullo kicked off the fall climbing season with a bang. In late September, he onsighted Memento 5.14a and MotivAcción 5.14b in Cueva del Arenal, Spain. The ascents were his 15th 5.14a onsight and sixth 5.14b onsight. He also made the second ascent of Secaina 5.14d (9a) in La Pedriza near his hometown of Madrid and ticked El Cobrador del Flash V14.
