Planning a summer roadtrip? Here are a few climbing festivals worth adding to the trip itinerary.

11th Annual Rockfest (June 25 – 26)

This could be a nice trip for all those west coast climbers. This year Mazama, Washington is hosting the Rockfest event and will be sharing their local Goat Wall crag with visiting climbers. Canadians Will Stanhope and Sonnie Trotter will be making the trip to the event as special guests and present clinics and slideshows on Saturday night. For more information check out the American Alpine Club post here.

Summer Sweat Fest (July 14 – August 25)

This is a third annual Summer Sweat Fest for Southern Ontario climbers. This local bouldering series promises great problems and good company. Beginners and experienced climbers are  welcome. For the locations, schedule and registration check out the site here.

Ibex Valley Bouldering Competition (August 7)

Located close to Whitehorse, the spectacular Ibex Valley welcomes climbers to enjoy the Yukon granite. Featuring juggling, slacklining, bouldering and dyno competitions, this is a great family event. Off-road vehicles recommended.  For more information, check here.

Skaha Climbers Festival (September 2 -5)

What better way to celebrate the Labour Day weekend.  In a partnership with MEC and BC Parks, the Skaha Climbers Advisory Committee will be celebrating 100 years of adventure. The festival will feature clinics, demos, contests, live music and presentations. For more information check here.
