Korean Sangwon Son Sends Margalef 5.15a
Strong Korean climber Sangwon Son has climbed Chris Sharma’s Demencia Senil 5.15a in Margalef, Spain.
The route has a number of shallow and painful monos and two-finger pockets.
The steep route was first climbed in 2009 and has been repeated a number of times. Alex Megos repeated it in 2013 in less than three tries.
The second ascent of the 16-metre climb went to Iker Pou in 2010. Pou made the third ascent of the famous Action Directe, the world’s first 5.14d, in 2000.
The climber’s site 8a.nu noted that in 2013, Son climbed La Rambla 5.15a. And that he was a top IFSC competitor in Lead until 2011.
