Lara Neumeier Repeats Seven Pitch 5.13-

This is the second ascent of the 140-metre route since it was opened in 2022

During the month of August, German climber Lara Neumeier made the first repeat of the multi-pitch route Nimm Dir Zeit in the Allgäuer Alpen region of Austria. Just last week, we reported about her redpoint of a nine pitch 5.13d, read more here.

After spending two days working out the beta, Neumeier successfully climbed the full route on day three. “The idea to try this route was born this year, in spring, when there was still a lot of snow at higher altitude and many alpine climbing areas were wet due to the melting snow and intense rainfall in the Alps.”

The route, which is found on the Roter Stein, was established and first climbed in 2022 by local climber Pierre Breitwieser. Nimm Dir Ziet is 140 metres long with seven pitches that break down to 5.10, 5.12, 5.13, 5.13, 5.12, 5.12, and 5.12.

“I spent two days checking out the difficult pitches,” said Neumeier. “Despite the extremely warm summer temperatures and some wet sections, I was able to find a beta for all moves. We returned on a cooler summer day with better conditions, and I was able to climb all pitches at first try and secured myself the first repetition and the first female ascent of Nimm dir Zeit. Climbing this route was something very special to me as it is located where I grew up and my uncle, who is also a strong climber, came along to support me. I’m not the best at grading, but from what I’ve climbed so far regarding multi-pitch and sport routes, my suggestion for the difficulty of pitches two and three would be 8a and 8a+.”
