Lucas Uchida Climbs Dreamcatcher 5.14d

His send comes not long after repeating one of Squamish's most difficult bouldering problems

Lucas Uchida has climbed Dreamcatcher 5.14d in Squamish. Originally from Ontario, Uchida is currently based in western Canada. Over the years, he’s won several gold medals at competitions and has repeated several test-piece lines.

Earlier this summer, he became the fourth person to climb The Singularity, a notoriously difficult V14 in Squamish. In late 2021, he became the third climber to flash Shelter V13. And in late 2020, he climbed three V12s and one V13 at Niagara Glen in a day.

The first ascent of Dreamcatcher was by Chris Sharma in 2007, and it was repeated by Sean McColl in 2009. The third ascent was by Ben Harnden in 2012 and then Alex Megos climbed it in 2016 after only three tries. Mike Foley sent it in 2017, Jimmy Webb climbed it in 2018 and Nicholas Milburn in 2019. In 2021, JJ Mah was first to send, followed by Paige Claassen and Michaela Kiersch. There are possibly other redpoints of Dreamcatcher over the years.
