Many Climbers Celebrate Joe Biden and Kamala Harris Victory
Joe Biden will become the 46th president of the United States and Kamala Harris will become the 49th vice president
On Nov. 7, it was announced that Joe Biden will be the next president of the U.S.A. and that Kamala Harris will become the first female, first Black and first South Asian vice president.
Biden, 77, defeated his Republican rival to become the 46th president after more than three days of uncertainty as election officials sorted through mail-in votes that delayed processing.
Biden crossed 270 electoral college votes with a win in Pennsylvania, and has now reached 290.
Many top climbers have writen about the implications of this election’s outcome, such as Tommy Caldwell with Trump is Going to Ruin Rock Climbing.
Below are reactions from climbers around the world. We will continue to update throughout the day.
