Mar Álvarez: second female ascent of Era Vella

Spanish climber Mar Alvarez has sent the classic Margalef climb Era Vella 5.14d and become the second woman to do so.

In 2012 Sasha DiGiulian sent the route which was established in 2009 by Chris Sharma. The route has been climbed nearly two dozen times.

This is Alvarez’s first 5.14d of which she said,“It’s a dream come true. I never thought I could string it together.”
