Marc-André’s Visión is New Route on Torre Egger
Marc-André Leclerc spotted the route in 2016 and hoped to attempt it one day, but tragically he died in a climbing accident in 2018

Brette Harrington has completed a line up the East Pillar of Torre Egger in Patagonia with Quentin Roberts and Horacio Gratton called Marc-André’s Visión. Marc-André Leclerc passed away in a climbing accident in Alaska in the spring of 2018 with partner Ryan Johnson.
In February 2019, Harrington said, “The line curves delicately up the lower East Pillar of Torre Egger, connecting into Titanic. Marc had seen this line while soloing Torre Egger in 2016 and together we were hoping to return and climb it. This was a line I couldn’t do alone, so I called up my friend Quentin Roberts and he joined me in establishing the lower pillar this season which connects into Titanic.”
Patagonia hasn’t had a lot of good weather windows this year, but climbers got a lucky break this past week. “This is what I was up to for the past five days,” Harrington updated everyone with in an Instagram post on Feb. 11, read more below. They had climbed the cruxes last year and pushed it to the summit this year. The lower pitches go at 5.12+, see the lower post from 2019 for pitch descriptions.
