The Massive Howser Tower Rockfall in 2019

No one was injured during this mid-summer rockfall in 2019

In summer 2019, Jeff Bodnarchuk of Banff caught a spectacular rockfall on camera while in the Bugaboos. In the photos below, you can see a large section of the South Howser Tower collapsed.

Bodnarchuk noted that some climbers in camp ran for their lives, but no one was injured. The rockfall dusted the Minaret which is the tall buttress to the climber’s right of The Beckey/Chouinard where a number of climbers have been projecting routes this summer.
