McColl Sends Meadowlark Lemon Sit Start

Sean McColl has sent Meadowlark Lemon Sit, V14.

Paul Robinson made the first ascent in 2012, two year after he established the stand start. The route has been repeated a number of times by Dave Graham, Carlo Traversi, Niccolò Ceria, James Webb, Daniel Woods and others. Originally graded V15, it was downgraded in 2013.

Canadian Josh Muller sent the orginal V13 start in Dec. 2013, read about it here.

Sean McColl is currently on a road trip, heading towards Hueco Tanks. He sent Meadowlark on his second go, at 4:30 p.m., on Feb. 5, 2014. McColl said, “This one was a battle for me. Tried it on hot days, then was using low percentage beta which I ended up changing at the end of the third day.”

On the website Sendage, McColl wrote, “A very challenging boulder for me, the second move to the crimp was the hardest part. On the goes when I stuck it, I still had to do the “real” hard moves. Changed my beta at the end of the third day and sent second go on my fourth day. Another thanks to Kenny for motivating me to run out there at 4 p.m. for a few end of the day tries.”
