Michaela Kiersch Sends Everything is Karate
Last year she became the first woman to climb V15 and 5.15
Michaela Kiersch, 30, has climbed Ethan Pringle’s Everything is Karate 5.14c in Pine Creek, California. Kiersch is one of America’s best all-round climbers.
Everything is Karate has been repeated a number of times, including by Chris Sharma in 2017, Ben Hanna in 2018, Babsi Zangerl in 2019, and Paige CLaassen in 2023. The route climbs a steep wall of amazing granite following a seam feature.
About her send, Kiersch said on 8a.nu, “I visited Pine Creek for the first time a few weeks ago after leaving Spain due to unending rain. Everything is Karate was an obvious choice. The first few days I was battling extremely windy and cold conditions but I returned to Bishop for 2 more weekends and was able to float my way up on the send.”
At the end of 2024, Kiersch climbed the famous Fred Nicole boulder called Dreamtime V15 in Cresciano, Switzerland. In doing so, she became the first woman to climb both V15 and 5.15a. She has climbed two 5.15a sport routes in total with La Rambla in 2023 and VÃctima Perfecta in 2024.
