Nalle Hukkataival is Projecting Yosemite’s Dawn Wall

With top climber Ignacio Mulero

Nalle Hukkataival is one of the world’s top boulderers, but he’s spending the first bit of 2020 projecting Dawn Wall on El Capitan. Along with Ignacio Mulero, the two are currently, jugging ropes and working on the 30-pitch 5.14d route’s cruxes.

One of Hukkataival’s many big sends includes Burden of Dreams, the only V17 rated boulder in the world. Spanish climber Ignacio Mulero bagged the second ascent of The Meltdown 5.14d in the U.K. last year.

The first ascent of Dawn Wall was in 2015 by Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson. It’s only been repeated once, by Adam Ondra in 2016. Be sure to follow West Mountain Media as they document the 2020 Dawn Wall attempt.
