New 5.15a, V15 Sends, and La Rambla Repeated

La Rambla is one of the most climbed 5.15s with nearly 30 sends in the past 20 years

Top climbers have been busy sending hard routes in Europe and the U.S.A. as late winter conditions are providing great temps for projects. Iker Pou, 44, sent a new 5.15a in Mallorca with Gran Guggenheim that combines Guggenheim with Gran lubre. It’s only Mallorca’s second at the grade along with Pou’s 2015 climb Big Men.

Jorge Díaz-Rullo, 21, became the first climber of 2021 to send La Rambla 5.15a in Spain. He’d previously climbed over a dozen 5.15s, with classics like El Bon Combat 5.15b and Biographie 5.15a.

Also this week, Matt Fultz and and Andy Lamb climbed The Nest V15 in First Creek. First climbed by Daniel Woods in 2013, it was repeated by Jimmy Webb, and later by Paul Robinson and Nalle Hukkataival.
