New Bow Valley Sport Climbing Guidebook for 2021

The new guidebook has dozens of crags and over 2,000 routes from 5.4 to 5.15

Derek Galloway has completed the third edition of his Bow Valley Sport published by Quickdraw Publishing. Galloway, a 5.14+ climber currently based on the west coast, said the book is off to the printers and will be available in just over two months.

The full-colour guide is the resource for sport climbers heading to the Bow Valley for summer limestone sport climbing. It includes over 2,500 climbs around Banff, Canmore and Lake Louise with lots of route pics, topos and action shots. It will be the first edition to include multi-pitch sport routes, including Sisyphus Summits 5.10d on Ha Ling, Raptor 5.10d on EEOR, True Grit 5.10c on EEOR and many more.

“Well, that’s a wrap,” said Galloway. “106 new pages and over 500 new routes, three new (to the book) areas added, and tons of new action shots. Thanks everyone who helped out over the last few months. I couldn’t have done it without it.” The guidebook is now being shipped and is available for purchase at climbing stores in the Bow Valley.

In 2020, a new Squamish Select guidebook was published by Quickdraw Publishing, read more about it here.
