New Fastest Time Up Himalayan Peak
Vadim Druelle has smashed FKT up Nanga Parbat

French climber Vadim Druelle, 22, has climbed Nanga Parbat in a new record time of 15 hours and 15 minutes from base camp to summit. The previous fastest record was by Francois Cazzanelli in 20 hours and 22 minutes in 2022.
Nanga Parbat has an elevation gain of nearly 4,000 metres over 20 kilometres, making it one of the biggest base-camp-to-summit climbs of the world’s highest peaks. Druelle wasn’t the first climber to summit this year, which meant the trail was well broken for his attempt, but he managed the ascent without supplementary oxygen.
This is Druelle’s third 8,000-metre peak. In 2021, he climbed Manaslu in 12 hours and 45 minutes and in 2023 he climbed Kangchenjunga in 19 hours. Be sure to follow him on Instagram below for future attempts and ascents.
The fastest time up Mount Everest is held by Nepali climber Lhakpa Gelu Sherpa, who reached the summit in 10 hours and 56 minutes in 2003.
