New Hard Sport Routes in Rockies

It’s winter, but that hasn’t stopped keen new-routers Evan Hau and Marcus Norman from taking advantage of warm-ish days to send.

The Calgary climbers made first ascents of two new routes at Hau’s Apocalypse Cave on Grotto Mountain. Hau sent Sex Bomb 5.13b, of which he wrote on Sendage, “Marcus Norman route on Afterthought Wall. Vicious boulder problem on tiny pockets and crimps but also kinda fun.”

Norman sent Chalking Dead 5.12a and wrote on Sendage, “Yeah – might end up being easier once it cleans up. First route immediately left of Drifter. Great fun watching Evan take down Sex Bomb.”
