Update: New Squamish Mamquam River Campground Open

The new Mamquam River Campground is now open. It’s taken four years to transform this site from an abandoned industrial area to a rustic campground.

Update July 13: The campground has been temporarily closed. We will update the story once we have word on a reopening date.

As Squamish has gotten busier over the years and a crack-down on van campers has squeezed mobile climbers out of town, the new campground is a much needed.

Thanks in part to the hard work and fund-raising by John Harvey, the campground opened this week.

For now, it’s $10/night/car. The campground is 400 Meters east from the four-Way Stop at Loggers Lane and Centennial Way, near the Brennen Park Leisure Center.

“We’re less than one-kilometre to the Smoke Bluffs and just a few hundred feet from the beautiful Mamquam River,” said Mac Henry, manager of the new campground.”

“This campground has no water so bring your own. Refills can be done at the Leisure Center.” For more info visit here.
