New Women’s Speed Record on Aconcagua
Lenka Poláčková climbed Mount Everest last year without supplementary oxygen

Slovakian climber Lenka Poláčková has set the new women’s speed record on South America’s tallest mountain, Aconcagua (6,961 m). It’s also the highest peak outside of Asia and the highest in the southern and western hemisphere.
Poláčková’s new fastest known time (FKT) was 6:19:23 to the summit and 8:17:34 base camp to base camp. It was her second time up Aconcagua, with her first being a few days earlier with her husband Jan Poláčková on Jan. 22. They were part of a climb organized by Felix Berg with Summitclimb.
The previous FKT was by Rachel Boim in 2023 in a time of 7:58:34 to the summit. The Poláčková’s were fresh off making an ascent of Mount Vinson, the tallest mountain in Antactica at 4,892 metres.
In 2024, Poláčková made headlines when she became the tenth woman, and first from Slovakia, to ever climb Everest without supplementary oxygen. Follow her on Instagram below.
