Slovenian climber Tomaz Humar has been injured while attempting a new route on the north face of Langtang Lirung 7234m in Nepal. According to recent news reports, Humar sustained a broken leg and possible broken ribs while descending after attempting a solo climb up the north face. Humar called for help on his satellite phone but rescuers have not yet been able to locate him. This is the second time Humar has used a satellite phone to request a rescue during a climb. In 2005 Humar was trapped on Nanga Parbat 8126m due to deteriorating weather conditions and used a satellite phone to call for help, resulting in a dramatic helicopter rescue.
