The remains found in Black Velvet Canyon in Red Rocks have been positively identified as belonging to John Rosholt of Scottsdale, Arizona. Rosholt’s credit card purchases and ATM withdrawals show he arrived in Las Vegas in early January 2005 and was not heard from since. Rosholt was a talented climber who visited most of America’s major climbing areas and spent a few seasons climbing in Squamish. In the climbing world, Rosholt was known as The Gambler because he made a living from paying poker. Rosholt had been missing since January 2005. More details here.
