Nov 24 – 2010 – Venezuela Expedition in Memory of Kurt Albert

German climbers Stefan Glowacz and Holger Heuber are returning to Venezuela to finish a route they started climbing this spring with the late Kurt Albert. The trio were attempting a new route on Roraima Tepuis but were forced back after encountering unusually bad weather and running out of food and water halfway up the route. Glowacz believes it is important to return to this climb, something the trio had agreed to do before Albert unexpectedly fell to his death while climbing earlier this year. Glowacz and Heuber “have made a conscious decision to complete the climb in this very special place in the manner Kurt would have wanted.” More details here.
