In an effort to save the receding Andean glaciers, a Peruvian inventor is painting the exposed rock near the glaciers with whitewash. Eduardo Gold believes that the white paint will reflect heat back into the atmosphere which could reduce the temperature of the local micro-climate and slow the melting of the glaciers.
