Nov 8, 2010 – Siegrist Sends Pure Imagination

This weekend, Jonathan Siegrist completed what could be the hardest route in the Red River Gorge. Pure Imagination 5.14d is located at the Chocolate Factory crag and was known as the Honeycomb Project until Siegrist bagged the first ascent. The line starts with easy 5.11 climbing and quickly transitions into a very difficulty boulder problem followed by an all-points-off sideways dyno to a jug. Powerful lock-offs and on small crimps and pockets eventually lead to the long section of continuously difficult climbing finishing on a powerful shouldery lock-off – the redpoint crux. Siegrist has climbed many of North America’s hardest sports including Tommy Caldwell’s test piece, Kryptonite 5.14d. More details here.
