Dawn Wall: NPR Interview and Last Hard Pitch Sent

Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson are busy working on their Dawn Wall project. They talked to NPR’s Melissa Block from their ledges on Monday night.

Tommy Caldwell reported late Tuesday night that he’d sent the final 5.14 pitch. From Caldwell’s Facebook: “Tonight was definitely bittersweet. I managed to redpoint the final 5.14 pitch. Keven battled hard on pitch 15 late into the night but came away with another hole in his finger and no send. Tomorrow is a new day. Lets all send Kevin good skin healing vibes.”

Night Climbing
The team is climbing at night because the daytime temps, despite being January, are too warm. To maximize friction, they are climbing by headlamp.

Forecast
The weather looks great for the next few days starting on Wed. Jan. 7.
