Oct 20, 2011 – Rings and Slings

Check out this beautiful film about climbing on the runout sandstone routes in Saxony, Germany. Climbs in this area are protected only with knotted slings or long ring-bolts that have been placed on lead. Chalk, nuts and cams are not allowed, and since many of the routes climb free-standing pillars, top roping is not a viable option. This is perhaps one of the boldest climbing areas in the world.
