Ontario’s Rattlesnake Spring Fling this Weekend
Introduction to rock climbing and mentorship clinics available
The Rattlesnake Spring Fling is taking place on June 1 at Rattlesnake Point in Ontario. The Ontario Alliance of Climbers has been busy at Rattlesnake preparing it for this season. The access group has added bolted 5.5 to 5.10 climbs to help spread the crowds that fill the Niagara Escarpment crags on weekends.
“We’ve been doing our best to keep things under wraps, but it’s time we spill the beans,” the event page reads. “What we had been previously advertising as a Rattlesnake Crag Stewardship Day is actually going to be the OAC’s first Rattlesnake Spring Fling — our kick off to the start of the climbing season. This event is open for all climbers, and clinics are offered for anyone who’s never climbed outside before. If you want to learn how to transition from the gym to the crag, this is the perfect opportunity for you.”
There are clinics available such as climbing mentorship and introduction to rock climbing. Find all of the information here and the Facebook page here. It will be a great event and the weather isn’t looking too bad, but be prepared for mosquitoes.
