Over 900 Climbs in New Ontario Guidebook

Covering climbs withing 90 minutes of Thunder Bay, Aric Fishman has brought together decades of history, hundreds of routes and amazing photos

The second edition of the guidebook Thunder Bay Climbing: A Guide To Northwest Ontario’s Best Kept Secret by Aric Fishman will be hitting the stands at the end of May. The book includes over 900 climbs, 18 areas and crisp drone topos.

The newest area that will be featured is Outbreak Wall, which has a campground, dozens of splitter cracks and steep sport climbs. The crag will be featured in the June/July issue of Gripped. “I’m excited to announce that the 2nd edition of my rock climbing guidebook for the Northwest Ontario region is now available for pre-orders,” said Fishman. “The prints are expected to arrive in Thunder Bay on May 26.”

Fishman said it’s designed to be extremely informative, accurate, and very visually appealing – showcasing just how spectacular the climbing is within this region. It covers all of the climbing withing 90 minutes of Thunder Bay, which is a lot.

The book is $70, which is a steal in 2023 for such a big book with so many print photos. Fishman funded the project himself, which is no cheap task. To pre-order and to support a local climber and guide, visit here.
