Paige Claassen has climbed a hard route in California with Everything is Karate 5.14c/d, a line bolted by Pat O’Donnell in 2012 and sent by Ethan Pringle in 2016.

It’s been repeated a number of times, including by Chris Sharma in 2017 (watch below), Ben Hanna in 2018 (watch below) and by Babsi Zangerl in 2019. The route climbs a steep wall of amazing granite following a seam feature.

Earlier this year, Claassen repeated a stout route in Rocklands called Legacy 5.14d – read about it here. Over the years, the top American climber has ticked several other test-piece lines, including Dreamcatcher 5.14d, Algorithm 5.14d, Shadowboxing 5.14d and Kryptonite 5.14d.

Earlier this year, a short film about Claassen was released called Love: A Film about Motherhood, Strength, and Climbing. The description of the film reads, “After a miscarriage and a historic ascent of the famous sport climb Dreamcatcher, Paige Claassen follows her own path as a professional athlete training through pregnancy, finding new meaning in strength and identity through the early days of motherhood.” Watch it below.
