Parking Lot Wall is Fun Squamish Crag

It's one of the closest crags in Squamish to the road

If you’ve been to Squamish in the summer, then you know how busy the 5.6 to 5.10 crags can get. While the multi-pitch routes on The Chief are always popular, the Smoke Bluffs are the go-to cragging choice for most climbing in Squamish from spring to fall.

Over the years, the parking lot has grown in size to accommodate the hundreds of climbers who visit during in peak season every day. Many climbers likely noticed fixed ropes and climbers busy cleaning cracks at a small crag close to the north end of the parking lot over the past year.

The fixed ropes are now gone and we have 11 new routes from 5.6 to 5.10 thanks to Aaron Kristiansen. He wrote on the Facebook page for Squamish Rock Climbing, “Without further adieu I give you The Parking Lot Wall. One year’s worth of scrubbing, drilling and digging.

A: Parking Lot Wall B: Smoke Bluffs Parking C: Crag X

“Found in the parking lot of the Smoke Bluffs, the Parking Lot Wall offers the most easily accessible assortment of easy crack climbs in all of Squamish. Special tanks to Scott Macpherson and Cameron Hunt for helping me out.”
