Peter Adamson Climbs New 5.13+ in New Brunswick

Peter Adamson has made the first ascent of an old project of his at Utopia in New Brunswick.

Peter bolted the route five years ago with Jon Adamson and said it combines powerful climbing up 25 metres of “typical Utopia overhanging funky-ness.”

Utopia is on highway 70 north of St. George in the maritime province and is divided into north and south crags.

In 2016, Jon made the first ascent of Send Badge 5.13 at Utopia, one of the hardest routes on the East Coast.

While there are a number of bolted projects up the steep granite, another hard line is is Inversion 5.12c.

For a complete list of routes as of 2015 see the online guide here.

The most difficult route listed in New Brunswick is Slam Piece 5.13d, which was sent by Seb Pacey-Smith this year at Gondola Point.
