Piotr Schab Sends First 5.15b and Other 5.15s in 2019

Polish climber Piotr Schab has started 2019 with a number of 5.15 sends, making him one of the top sport climbers of the season. In 2018, he spent 15 days projecting Fight or Flight and eight in 2019 before getting the redpoint.

“It means a lot,” said Schab. “5.15b was a dream and Fight or Flight was a real challenge. I’ve never climbed such an intense route, usually my hardest climbs were long and endurance – styled. I had to adapt to a faster style of climbing and take more risks than ever, but it was a great game.”

His most recent send was Pachamama in Oliana, Spain, it was also his eighth 5.15a. His recent climbs make second overall in the 8a.nu rating list behind Adam Ondra. Other 5.15s for Schab include the first ascent of Ali Hulk Extension Total in Spain, Biographie, No Pain No Gain, Papichulo, Seleccion Anal and Thor’s Hammer. “Probably the best sequence of moves I’ve done in past couple of years,” said Schab after ticking Pachamama.
