Portugal Bouldering with Will Bosi

Sintra has some incredible boulders – watch Bosi sample a few, including a V14 repeat, a V12 FA, and attempts on a hard unclimbed project

In April, Scottish climber Will Bosi took a short bouldering trip to Sintra in the south of Portugal. His highlight of the visit was making the second ascent of Mito V14 (8B+). “Super psyched to climb this amazing feature!” he said on Instagram. “This is my first time in Portugal and this boulder was definitely top of the list. Somehow managed to deal with the heat and get [Mito] done on my first session.” Bosi just released a new film detailing his Portuguese climbs, which you can watch below.

While on the trip, Bosi also repeated Pena Perpetua V13 and made the first ascent of Eye of Fire V12. “My first FA in Portugal and definitely a cool one!” he said. “The line revolves around two really hard moves, to and from a terrible mono with a ninja flick! Not really sure about grade but hopefully [V12] is about right.” He also flashed two V10s, Twilight and Prison Break.

Bosi spent a few days on a longstanding project in the area. According to him, the stunning bloc is the “king line project” of Sintra. “Unfortunately I’m not sure when I’ll be back, but hopefully it won’t be too long,” he said.

Bosi’s Portugal visit came on the back of his successful trip to Red Rock, Nevada in February where he repeated Sleepwalker V15/16 and made the second ascent of Return of the Sleepwalker V17, his third of the grade to date.
