Recent Bold First Ascent for Pete Whittaker in U.K.

Pete Whittaker recently made the first ascent of Psychosomatic Pigeon at the Burbage South, Peak District, U.K. Conditions weren’t great, tea towels had to be taped to the wall to stop the holds getting wet. Not bad enough to stop the send though.

Whittaker has been climbing since the age of seven and grew up in the Peak District, an area known for technical and bold climbing. With Tom Randall, Whittaker made the first ascents of some of the most challenging cracks ever with Century Crack and The Millennium Arch.

The challenge and endurance aspect he loves about climbing led him to Yosemite where, in 2016, he became the first person to solo-free, El Capitan in under 24 hours. Always training, Whittaker regularly posts motivational videos to Instagram. Watch the latest challenge below.
