Rock Climbing History Made in Yosemite
Kate Kelleghan and Laura Pineau have climbed the Yosemite Triple in under 24 hours

Kate Kelleghan and Laura Pineau have made history as the first women to complete the Yosemite Triple Crown. On June 8, they climbed El Capitan, Mount Watkins and Half Dome in 23 hours and 36 minutes.
In 2001, Dean Potter and Timmy O’Neil completed the first single-day ascent of the Triple. In 2012, Alex Honnold became the first to solo the Triple, finishing in approximately 19 hours, as detailed in his American Alpine Journal account here.
Earlier this year, Kelleghan and Pineau set a new women’s speed record on Naked Edge in Colorado’s Eldorado Canyon. They simul-climbed the 150-metre route in a bridge-to-bridge time of 37 minutes 8 seconds.
