Ryuichi Murai Sends Two Classic Swiss V15 Problems

The top Japanese climber made quick work of the classic boulders

Ryuichi Murai is at the top of the bouldering world these days. Last month, he made the first ascent United V16 in Japan and paid a visit to the famous Cresciano, Switzerland, last week.

He made quick work of two classics in relatively quickly: Dreamtime V15 and The Story of Two Worlds V15. So far, 25-year-old Murai has done 12 problems V15 or harder. “I took about two hours to send Dreamtime,” he said.

“First, I practiced each moves a few times. Then on my fourth try from the start I climbed it. The first part of this line was especially hard with a crux a dyno in the middle.” Watch his first ascent of United below.
